WaterSchool
Jurgen Bey, based in Rotterdam, initiated the "WaterSchool" project at the 2018 International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam. Represented in the 2023 KISISF in Kaohsiung, the exhibition creatively utilizes container contours to outline a space filled with goods. Standardized boundaries confine each item, showcasing identical objects at the container's end. Reinterpreted by diverse artists and designers, these objects form a miniature learning environment, narrating cultural stories related to water. Containers were chosen due to their symbolic weight, representing Dutch yearly consumption of 43,435 liters per person, about the weight of a 20-foot container. The project blends artistic expression, cultural storytelling, and environmental awareness.
