"DHHstudio- Donghai Hospital" | From sixty years old hospital to a creative design studio, DHHstudio, after the 921 earthquake, has transformed while carrying the same passion for patient care as doctors. Studio continuously collaborate with local organizations and explore the things around us.

"Black Village - MMSS | Sanchong is an industrial city adjacent to Taipei. With "Black Village" at its core, MMSS stands for "Material," "Manufacture," "Space," and "Share." Through this project, we aim to showcase Sanchong as an energetic and professional factory settlement, challenging preconceived notions.

Both of these projects are rooted in Gina Hsu’s "home," one being her parents' home and the other husband's family home. Through his life experiences and design expertise, she actively responds to the living environment he's in.

Homesick

Homesick

During the planning of the 10th of KISISF(Kaohsiung International Steel and Iron Sculpture Festival ), Gina visited local manufacturers and factories. Each place has its unique development context, whether they have deep roots, are home to newcomers, migrant workers, or those who have moved away. Regardless of the role, society is a continuous process of movement, with urban and rural areas, economic transformation, and social restructuring creating connectivity.

Gina explored the concept of where we come from and where we should go. Continuing the theme related to "home," we carried glass medicine bottles commonly found in hospitals, collected local materials during field investigations, such as metal powder or metal scraps, and marked the collection locations. These materials were sealed in different transparent capsules, making them easy to carry and dissolve in water. It serves as a remedy for homesickness. When we go far away, taking one of these capsules helps us adapt to the local environment.
